WHO GETS THE AIR MATRESS?
An Advent Series on Hope and HospitalityThe people looked forward to it, prepared for it and hoped beyond hope for the Messiah but were woefully unprepared for His arrival. Why? What mistakes were made and what mistakes do we still make as we prepare for His Coming again?

HAND ME ANOTHER BRICK
Lessons in Kingdom Building from Nehemiah
As the people of Israel returned to Jerusalem following their exile in Babylon, they faced enormous challenges. Everything they had known or even dreamed about was destroyed and decayed. It was time to rebuild…both their city and their faith. We too are called to be builders, builders of God’s Kingdom as witnesses to the saving power of Jesus Christ. That’s often hard given the brokenness we see all around us. As we continue to move forward post-Covid, we’ll explore the story of Jerusalem’s rebuilding under Nehemiah and the joys, sorrows, struggles and celebrations they experienced. As we do so, we’ll face our own Kingdom-building challenges- internal and external- and find ways to experience God’s power working through us.

STICK TO YOUR RIBS
Real Food for Real Life
In John’s gospel, Jesus refers to himself as the “Bread of Life.” Listeners at that time were confused and often still are today. Yet Jesus was reminding us that life is infinitely more than mere physical acts like eating. The souls within us must be nurtured with the heavenly food that makes living here worthwhile and strengthens us for the eternity before us. Join us in August as we explore Jesus’ ‘bread of heaven’ lessons and seek to fortify ourselves with God’s spiritual abundance so we can truly experience full living.

GOOD NEIGHBORS
A Deep Dive into the Parable of the Good Samaritan
Even folks who don’t know the Bible know the story of the Good Samaritan and its call to help others. Yet as with so many of Jesus’ parables, there is a depth and many layers of understanding to this beloved story. It deals with sin and selfishness, racism and prejudice, misplaced priorities and the very heart of the will of God. In July we’ll take the time to explore the parable in depth and ask ourselves the question that inspired Jesus to tell the tale: Just who is my neighbor?

WITH EARS TO HEAR: STUDIES IN THE PROPHETS
In the Old Testament, a prophet is one who speaks, and even at times embodies, God’s messages. Though often speaking to the contemporary situations in ancient Israel, the words of the prophets still speak to our own lives, situations and faith journeys as long as we have “ears to listen.” Join us this summer for an exploration of a few of the prophets’ lessons.

WE'RE GONNA PUMP YOU UP
Spiritual Disciplines and The Christian Life
“Use it or lose it!” That slogan can be applied to everything from skill sets to muscles. It also applies to our faith life and far too many nominal Christians find their energy and passion for Christ atrophy because they have failed to exercise that faith. “Spiritual Disciplines” refer to those habits, practices and intentional structures in which we engage so that we can build our spiritual muscles and experience the strength, energy and passion that is the core of discipleship. During the Easter season this year we will explore some spiritual disciplines and challenge ourselves to make some or all of them an integral part of our Christian walk.

Keeping to Life's Essentials
A Sermon Series for Lent 2021
If we travel anywhere, we have to make hard choices about what to bring and what to leave behind. Sacrifices are an integral part of healthy living and vital to our spiritual health. During Lent, as we explore what it means to be disciples, we’ll walk through the Gospel stories of Jesus, paying attention to those things that Christ deems essential for abundant living and, hopefully, paring off many of the things that are not! As we move towards the Passion of Good Friday and Easter, we’ll wrestle with what’s truly important and of eternal value!

TO INFINITY...AND BEYOND!
Carrying the Gospel to Every Corner (based on Acts 1:6-11)
No matter what’s going on around us and what challenges we face, our essential and foundational focus as the church is to proclaim Christ and make disciples. Sometimes we erroneously separate that call into different categories like “worship,” “missions,” “evangelism,” and “service.” The truth is, proclaiming Christ is about all of those things and at its core discipleship cultivates an attitude of looking and reaching outward. As we refocus for 2021, we’ll begin by revisiting our mission and our purpose. Along the way we’ll challenge each other to take some concrete steps and some personal responsibility for our shared commission. How will you be refocused and energized for Christ’s call in your life in 2021?
