“GOD BLESS US, EVERYONE!”
LIVING OUR OWN CHRISTMAS CAROL
Charles Dickens’ classic, “A Christmas Carol,” is a holiday staple, its story retold in plays, films, sitcoms, parodies and even cartoons. Even if you’ve never read the actual book, you certainly know the story of Scrooge and his ghostly visitors. Yet the tale’s popularity persists precisely because it sings to deep truths even the most Scrooge-like among us knows deep down. It is about sin and selfishness, failure and death, hope and redemption and the very meaning of life itself. This Advent and Christmas season we’ll use this familiar story to reexamine the Christmas message of hope, peace, joy and love through the faithful grace of God-among-us. Along the way we’ll celebrate the fundamental truth expressed by Tiny Tim, that God indeed blesses us, everyone.

BORROWED TIME
Reflections on a Life of Stewardship
We are obsessed with a great falsehood we all believe. We speak using terms like “my money,” “my time,” “my life,” and even, “my soul,” when the truth is that we truly possess none of those things. They are on loan to us for a short time until they, and we ourselves, are finally reclaimed by the rightful Owner. The Bible reminds us that we are instead called to be stewards, managers of the lives, material, and years that have been entrusted to us. Moreover, we are accountable for how we use and manage those priceless resources. How would our worldview change if we truly understood ourselves as stewards? How are stewardship and discipleship synonymous? How is stewardship more than a task and more than putting money in an offering plate and, instead, an experience of hope, joy and liberation? Join us as we explore what it means to live on “Borrowed Time.”

TRUTH IN 280 CHARACTERS...OR LESS
Being Disciples in the Digital Age
The nature of our call to go and tell the world about Christ means that all Christians are, in a sense, in the communication business. In our digital age, communications have been absolutely revolutionized as the street corner speaker has long since given way to the Tic Tok video, the Tweet, the Facebook post and the interactive website. These new ways of reaching out and staying in contact also have unique challenges and not a few dangers. Yet though the means have changed, we are still called to share Christ. Join us we explore what it looks like to be the Body of Christ in this fast-paced time and learn some practical God-focused tips for how to best use modern communications media and how to avoid the pitfalls.

THE OLD. OLD STORIES
Hearing them again for the first time
We remember them all from Sunday school and coloring books, but these seemingly quaint old and familiar stories are anything but child’s play. In deceptively simple stories they teach us some fundamentals about who God is and what it means to be human. Come with us as we make the old, old stories new again.

I MEANT TO DO THAT!
Embracing, Investing in and Advancing Our Mission
Habits can be good things and familiarity does produce a certain comfort, but there’s always the risk that we lose focus on why we do what we do. It’s the same for our discipleship. As we move forward from Easter, we’ll spend the next 50 days focusing on and rededicating ourselves to our church’s mission. As the Body of Christ tasked with sharing the good news and making disciples we are called to embrace that calling fully through prayer and worship, pour ourselves completely into the building of God’s Kingdom and grow ever more into the likeness of Christ. Join us for this Easter-season series as we discover ways to embrace, invest and advance…in short living as disciples; living like we mean it!
