Unwrapping the christmas presence
The True Reason for Celebrating Advent & Christmas
As much as we love the decorations and the tinsel and as much as we enjoy the gifts under the tree, the real celebration of Christmas comes in being surrounded by and sharing it with the ones we love. It’s really not about the presents but it is all about the presence. So too the first Christmas, and the reason we celebrate as the family of God. Emmanuel, “God with Us,” has arrived and because He has put aside Divinity to walk with us, talk with us and care for us, we can know ourselves as truly blessed. This advent we’ll explore a bit more about how God’s Presence changes our lives and attitudes.

Stories for the Journey
Walking with Jesus in Daily Life
Jesus’ most profound lessons often came in the form of stories or parables but just as often Jesus demonstrated His commandments and teachings by living them out as he traveled with His disciples. Long before the New Testament was written, the “People of the Way” told the stories of how they had experienced Jesus in everyday life and how those interactions taught what it meant to be a disciple and what God valued most. Join us as we walk alongside Jesus through the Gospel of Luke and learn those vital lessons for our own journey.

The Rebellion
Living the Risky Call of Radical, Subversive Christianity
“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword!” Jesus says in Matthew 10:34. Christianity was never meant to be a passive, get-along sort of philosophy but rather a challenge to the status quo and a vehicle to change the world! As we begin a new chapter in the life of our church, it’s a good time to re-discover the nature of this radical faith and reflect on our own approach to being a Christian disciple. We’ll take some time to wrestle with the specific ministries and callings of our church and challenge one another to make a real commitment to being radical, subversive Christians.

Summer in the Psalms
The psalms are beautiful prayers and immortal hymns. They are lovely communications between God and God's People. They also tell us a great deal about who God is and how God relates to us. Join us in July for a short summer exploration of a few of these wonderful songs of faith and devotion.
